MapRounds

Privacy and saved progress

Learn what stays in your browser, how optional saved progress works, what happens when a page loads, and how to clear stored rounds.

Your answers stay in the browser

You do not need to give a name, class, location or email address to play. Questions, answers and scores are processed in your browser. The quiz application does not send round answers to a server. Your round stays in the current tab unless you choose to save it.

Optional local storage

Check Save progress on this device before starting, or select Save progress during a round, to enable saving for that set. Later answers update the stored copy while saving is on. Continue saved round restores it only when you select it. Clear saved progress turns saving off and tries to delete the stored round. If deletion fails, the message tells you. Your browser’s site-data settings can remove all saved rounds and the theme preference.

Saved progress does not sync to another device. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see it. Private-browsing settings, storage limits or clearing site data can remove it, so do not treat it as a backup for an important record.

What happens when you load a page

Your browser requests the page, scripts, fonts, maps and flag images from the hosting service. That provider may process ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses and request logs. This is separate from the application sending quiz answers. If you follow an external source link, that site’s own privacy practices apply.

Advertising and analytics in this release

Advertising and vendor analytics are disabled in this preview. It does not load an advertising SDK, analytics service or consent popup. Before a later release enables advertising, its notices must identify the actual vendors and explain the relevant consent and age settings. Quiz workspaces and print pages remain separate from the public-content advertising integration.

Contact and corrections

When a contact address is available, its email link opens your own email app. There is no on-site submission form. Include only the details needed to explain the issue, and leave out student names, class lists, private results and payment information.
